The Chardonnays from Todd Alexander’s Holocene are demonstrably compelling; the Aureolin shows great reduction and rich umami character. It spends nine months in a mixture of steel, new and neutral oak barrels, including the small format, feuillettes. It was allowed to oxidise at crush and made with a reductive approach. Rich, smoky grilled lemon wedges, oyster brine, and verbena complement Moroccan preserved lemons, candied ginger, and smoked cardamom. Delicious. (Decanter)

Undeniably captivating, the Pyxis is made with all native yeasts and spent nine months in amphora of both terracota and sandstone, where it was left untopped for six months to encourage the formation of a flor yeast. The result is a wonderfully oxidative, incredibly rich Chardonnay, with waxy, nutty aromatics and a palate of fleshy, ripe peaches, nectarines, and intense citrus oil, along with preserved lemon, alongside a wild umami, miso character that shows great interplay and complexity. A wonderful and compelling wine, completely outside the box. (Decanter)

A Bing cherry aroma slinks its way up from the glass, followed by spicy whispers of cardamom and cinnamon. Straw and chalkboard dust scents seal the deal. After a tannic black tea note materializes on the palate, the wine’s cranberry and raspberry flavors punch the tart button. You can feel the tannins, but they aren’t grippy. The acidity, however, lets you know it is ready for juicy business. Memorialis is quietly becoming one of Oregon’s best Pinot Noirs.- Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast

The astonishingly good and very pure 2023 ‘Sidereal’ is 100% Pommard clone Pinot Noir that was all whole-cluster fermented. It is sourced from a small, 7-acre parcel in the Ribbon Ridge AVA. Guava puree and Yakima cherry notes mark the nose alongside suggestions of cardamom-dusted orange peel and salty soils. A bright salinity bursts through the core of pure red fruits, alongside crushed wet rock, and peat moss accents on the palate. Showing really good length and viscosity, this is a marvelous warm-vintage showing that is already nicely evolved. Just give this about 30 minutes in the decanter if savoring now. The 2023 ‘Codex’ was stored in a small amount of new French oak (20%) before bottling. For 50 bucks USD, this is an incredible Oregon Pinot Noir. Silky and rich throughout the drinking experience, this exudes class with its core of Bing cherry, guava puree, cranberry and salty minerals, alongside Mandarin orange zest. This beautiful wine is already nicely evolved  and will cellar well for at least another ten years to coe. Drink 2025-2035 95 points, Owen Bargreen

The outstanding 2023 ‘Apocrypha’ was aged for 9 months in 25% new French oak and saw100% whole cluster fermentation. This is lush, round and rich on the mouth with serious texture, tannin and mouthfeel. Dense red and dark fruits collide with salty minerals and volcanic stony accents on the palate. A stunning wine that is already drinking well, enjoy over the next fifteen plus years to come. Drink 2025-2042 97 points, Owen Bargreen
