Old-vine Grenache (80-100 years old)
North-facing slope, sandy and cobbled soils

It is our hope to bring you one of the finest expressions of the elegant side of Grenache from this special region with every vintage.

Yields from this block are tiny due to the age of the vines and dry-farming. Therefore, only up to 200 Beatus cases will be produced each year, depending on the vintage conditions.

A stunning wine from the 2023 vintage, this Beatus comes from the Chateau de la Font Du Loup estate vineyard. A dizzying nose greets you with red rose petals and potpourri notes alongside tobacco leaf, worn leather, and salted red currants. The palate is fresh and viscous with terrific viscosity and freshness. This is seamless throughout the drinking experience, with bright red fruits, salted Mandarin orange zest, and stony nuances. Enjoy this delicious, tension-filled Chateauneuf and over the next ten-plus years. – Owen Bargreen

Rooted in the schist-laced hills of the Pyrénées-Orientales, “Meditations” is a white blend that invites a slower pace and a more reflective frame of mind. Composed of 68% Grenache Gris and 32% Macabeo from old vines, it’s a wine that balances quiet restraint with layered complexity. In the glass, it shows a luminous straw-gold hue. The nose is delicate yet deep—notes of quince, lemon oil, and white peach unfold into hints of chamomile, sea breeze, almond skin, and dried wildflowers. There’s a subtle salinity and herbal lift that speak to the Mediterranean flora surrounding the vineyard. On the palate, the wine is textured and expansive, with a gentle phenolic grip from the Grenache Gris and a fresh backbone provided by the Macabeo. Flavors of yellow apple, salted citrus, and raw hazelnut lead into a finish that’s both savory and mineral—clean, persistent, and quietly profound.Fermented with native yeasts and raised in neutral vessels, “Meditations” is made without adornment—just old vines, schist soils, and time. Best enjoyed slightly chilled, either with food or in stillness, when its subtle details can truly unfold.

The 2023 Clos Lointain The Spectra Grenache from the Côtes Catalanes is drawn from the La Coumo Estate Vineyard, where 70–90-year-old vines are rooted. Entirely de-stemmed and sourced from a north-facing slope, the wine also incorporates 5% Grenache Gris. The aromatics are captivating, with layers of wild strawberry, red currant, blood orange peel, and sun-dried herbs, underscored by hints of crushed stone and earth. On the palate, it is both commanding and refined, delivering waves of raspberry coulis, pomegranate, and savory spice wrapped in a framework of vibrant acidity. The texture is broad and layered, yet lifted with remarkable energy, carrying into a finish that is long, structured, and deeply resonant. This is an extraordinary Grenache that channels both the rugged intensity of its terroir and the elegance of its old vines. It would pair beautifully with Moroccan-spiced lamb tagine with apricots and almonds, where the interplay of sweet, savory, and spice mirrors the wine’s intensity and depth. Highly recommended. – Jeremy Young, International Wine Report
